James Mulholland is Associate Professor of English at North Carolina State University. He is the author of Sounding Imperial: Poetic Voice and the Politics of Empire, 1730-1820 (Johns Hopkins 2013). His work has also appeared in PMLA, ELH, MLQ, Oral Tradition, and other venues. He was the 2016-17 ACLS Frederick Burkhardt Fellow in residence at the National Humanities Center, where he researched his next project on the emergence of Anglo-Indian literature during the late eighteenth century.
